Our client in the advertisement and communications sector seeks to employ a senior finance manager. At our company, we’re committed to securing every individual’s immediate and long-term financial goals, including our own. We’re searching for a qualified senior finance manager with 10+ years of professional experience to join us.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/FCA/CPA/ACCA/FCCA) having trained and qualified in a Big4 Accounting firm (PwC/EY/Deloitte/KPMG) along with service industry experience. As a candidate you are expected to be detail-oriented, knowledgeable in financial planning, excel modelling, and to have strong problem-solving skills, and an investigative nature. You are expected to have a deep commercial awareness, strong numeracy skills, and a keen interest in the growth, efficiency and profitability of our organization. You will have outstanding communication and report writing skills with exceptional technical ability and negotiation skills. High-Level Objectives of this Role  
  • Have overall responsibility for revenue accounting, managing collections through payment gateway services, reconciliation of revenue accruals and funds received in bank accounts, remittances to international holding company bank accounts etc.
  • Have overall responsibility for expense accounting and management of expenses as per approved budgets.
  • Identify new metrics to drive business performance relative to strategic priorities while minimizing risk.
  • Drive value within the business through margin enhancement, lowering costs and driving operational efficiencies.
  • Execute accurate reporting, enabling yourself to analyze options and make financial recommendations.
  • Provide insight into business performance against competitors and industry trends.
  • Manage relationships with bankers, auditors, and tax authorities.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, and maintaining compliance.
 
Key Responsibilities 
  • Have overall responsibility for revenue accounting, managing collections through payment gateway services, reconciliation of revenue accruals and funds received in bank accounts, remittances to international holding company bank accounts etc.
  • Have overall responsibility for expense accounting and management of expenses as per approved budgets.
  • Oversee the financial strategic planning of the company by evaluating its performance and potential risks.
  • Plan, organize, and execute financial tasks and projects of the organization.
  • Make estimates of funds required for the short and long-term financial objectives of the organization and strategize on fund procurement through shareholder/cofounder’s contributions and ensure timely funding remittances through banks and other financial institutions and intermediaries.
  • Set-up and manage accounting software and set the company’s books of accounts and ensure regular accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Perform regular financial analysis.
  • Develop budgets that meet the requirements of company departments and manage day to day expenses, payment of bills, salaries, wages and reimbursements and account for the same.
  • Establish targets and manage all accounting and finance employees, including management accountants and internal auditors.
  • Manage all audit and internal control processes.
  • Complete financial reports, prepare detailed reports on the company’s financial performance and lead the month-end closing process and conduct monthly financial forecast including monthly MIS reporting.
  • Prepare and finalize year-end accounts and support in group-level consolidation of accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial laws and guidelines.
  • Recognize patterns in company spending, revenue, and recommend solutions to any problem areas.
  • Coordinate with external financial entities on behalf of the company.
  • Achieve a proper mix of equity and debt to minimize cost and maximize operational profit.
  • Prudently make investments on assets that maximize returns.
  • Provide financial insight and analysis to drive the business performance of the organization.
  • Manage and monitor metrics, KPI tracking, and reports.
  • Evaluate the financial performance of the organization and measure returns on investments.
  • Understand and calculate the risks involved in the financial activities of the organization
 

Requirements

    • Professional accounting qualification and work experience (3+ years of training + work experience) gained through a Big4 accounting firm such as PwC, EY, Deloitte or KPMG.
    • 6+ years of work experience as a Finance Manager in a service industry business.
    • Thorough understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Strong knowledge of and experience in international, cross-border financial transactions involving FOREX purchases and sales and related banking and regulatory requirements.
    • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, SAP, and/or other financial and enterprise planning and management software.
    • Excellent financial planning and modelling skills with strong knowledge of financial operations procedures.
    • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
    • Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
    • Ability to process large amounts of data and convert to useful business information and recommendations.
    • Adaptable. You are flexible and open-minded.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and time management skills, and also have a positive attitude and an exceptionally friendly disposition.
    • Excellent presentation skills and should be able to confidently present to an audience of senior management and the Board of Directors, employees, lawyers, consultants, business partners, vendors, and the company’s customers.
    • Exceptional collaboration and delegation skills. Empathetic, know how to communicate with a wide range of personalities, and find it easy to share ownership of projects.
